Baby Steps.....

That's what Aubrey has done a few times in the last few days. She has taken about 2-3 steps at a time. Big girl!!

Is anyone out there???

So, I've just about decided to stop blogging since I'm not sure if anyone even looks anymore. I haven't had a comment in WEEKS. SO if you do read, please let me know my efforts are worth it!!

This weekend was a busy but fun one! Friday night Ben came over and spent the night. We had a blast playing Wii and watching Monster House. Saturday morning we went to the zoo with Clay, Kelly and their clan. It was perfect weather and the kids loved it!! Notice the beautiful shirts the girls are wearing. Thanks Mary Ann, we LOVE them!!



Today was Kite Day at church. After the service we had a "picnic" in the gym then all the preschoolers went outside to fly their kites. It was so much fun! It actually was the dads flying the kites, kids running around and moms talking :)

Princesses, Curly Hair and Snow

We really haven't been up to much at all lately. We've been working with Madelyn on the potty training lately. She went through about 10 pairs of big girl panties the last day or two, but tonight (after peeing on the kitchen chair and pooping in her pants) she told me twice that she had to potty and she did!! We're getting there slowly but surely.

Tonight she paraded around the house in her Princess outfit. Thanks Aunt Kelly!!





I love the way Aubrey's hair looks right after her bath because it's all curly. She was NOT happy because she wanted her bottle and wanted to go to bed.

Last week both Colton and Ripley turned 2!! Happy birthday to them :) We went to Nana's last week and had birthday cookie for Colton.


This weekend Clint went to Nashville for a hockey game with some friends, so Nana came over and stayed with us. Saturday night, Madelyn seemed pretty unimpressed by the snow. Sunday morning we went out and played in it. I think we got between 6 and 8 inches.

Old friends and Shoes

We had a pretty uneventful week last week, which was nice! Things at work are finally starting to slow down for me, for the first time this year. I'm actually hoping to be pretty slow this week! Last week Mary Ann and Carter came over to eat dinner and visit with the girls and me. It took a while for them to warm up to each other, but by the end of the night Carter and Madelyn were playing together and having a ball. I wasn't able to get many good pics, but here's the best I could do.

Saturday morning the girls and I met Aunt Kelly and all the cousins at the mall. Among other things, we got Aubrey her first pair of shoes. You can't really see them in this pic, but you can see that she wasn't quite sure what to think about them.

She's really standing a lot more, but not really starting to cruise around yet. I don't think she's close to walking yet, but who knows!! We went back to the doctor this week. Her ears finally look good, and now we're just praying they will stay clear for long enough for her to outgrow all the issues. She's gained a little weight, so she's up to 17 1/2 pounds. She's in the 15th percentile for height and weight. Although her growth has slowed some, the doctor said she looked perfect! Hopefully we can avoid a doctor's office again until her 1 year check up in April.

Valentines

We had a fun Valentines weekend. Friday night I took Madelyn and Izzy downtown to see Playhouse Disney Live. They enjoyed the show, but weren't completely sure what was going on. Halfway through, Madelyn turned around and asked me, "Are we watching tv Mommy?"

Izzy spent the night Friday night, and when we woke up Saturday morning we made heart-shaped blueberry pancakes for breakfast.


After breakfast, we went to the store, then back home for naps. That afternoon the girls made some Valentine cards and decorated sugar cookies before heading to Clay and Kelly's house.



Once we got to Clay and Kelly's the kids were running around playing like crazy. Thanks to Aunt Kelly for a yummy dinner! I bathed all the kids and we finally went home about 8:30. Yesterday we recovered from all the V-day festivities.

Tonight I was in Aubrey's room trying to box up old clothes and Madelyn decided to get in a box. You can't really tell from the pictures, but the box is really small. Somehow she managed to stuff herself in the box, and it was HILARIOUS!!!
Mimi and Poppie came over tonight and gave the girls some new jammies for Vaelntines Day. Madelyn loved her new Dora nightgown and made me put it on her instantly.Tomorrow Aubrey and I head to the pediatrician to try go discuss her ears. Hopefully we'll get some answers.
