Water, water and more water

Yes, that's all I seem to be drinking the last 24 hours thanks to my husband - the drink Nazi. Yesterday I woke up feeling a little yucchy, and as the day progressed my cramps began to get super uncomfortable and were accompanied by lower back pain. I called the doctor and of course they wanted to see me. Luckily, they checked my cervix and everything looked good - so no baby yet!! They also did some protein test that determined that there is a 98% chance that Aubrey will NOT make her arrival in the next 2 weeks, for which we were very thankful. They determined that I'm dehydrated, which is what keeps causing the contractions. No surprise to me considering that the whole pregnancy if I'm not having puking issues, I'm having tummy issues of other sorts. The only good thing is I've still barely gained any weight :) It's not all bad!! So now Clint has determined that he needs to basically try to have me drinking water constantly. His intentions are good :)

In other news, this weekend is Emily's baby shower - which should be lots of fun! I can't believe i have a close fried who's due only 2 weeks before me. I keep telling her it would be fun if we have the babies on the same day!!

Well, that's about lal in Buchanan news. Hopefully we'll get the paint for the nursery this weekend so we can get busy on that!!

Aubrey Kaitlyn

Well, I had an unexpected visit to the doctor this morning and got an ultrasound of Aubrey!! She's looking great and weighs in right now at 2 pounds and 7 ounces. I went in because her level of activity has drastically decreased over the weekend, and they wanted to check my fluid level since I've been so sick. Everything looks good though! I'm no longer dehydrated, but I still haven't gained any weight in the last month - which if you ask me is NO problem! They're not worried thought because I've gained 7 pounds total, so that's good. Aubrey is now sitting breach, with her head up under my ribs, which is why they think I'm feeling decreased movement.

We had family in town last weekend for our final Christmas celebration of the year. I'll post some pics tonight!!

Slacker.....

Ok, I know, I know...I haven't written in a month now. We had a most excellent Christmas, packed with family activities. Unfortunately Clint and I were so focused on using the video camera that we didn't take one picture on Christmas Day!! Madelyn had a blast with all of her Santa goodies, and really racked up on the toys!!

Our good friends Michael and Claire finally welcomed daughter Ella Kate into the world on New Years' Eve. We went to meet her last weekend and she is BEAUTIFUL!!

Over the holiday Clint and I bought new "big girl" furniture for Madelyn's room so we can start working on the nursery for Aubrey. The furniture was delivered last weekend, and so far Madelyn seems really excited about it and has been sleeping fine in her big bed! I'll definitely have to post some pics soon. Now we just have the nursery to deal with. I can't believe I"m due 3 months from today - CRAZY!! The time has flown by.

Speaking of, this pregnancy is really kicking my butt, as my doctor said! I've been having problems with dizziness and nausea and vomiting the whole pregnancy, but Friday it reached a whole new level. I called Clint and told him to pick me up from work. We went home and I just couldn't keep anything down, so my doctor had me go to the hospital just to treat the dehydration. After 2 hours and 5 needles, they were finally able to get an iv in, and we quickly learned that I'm allergic to Phenegren. Not fun!! But we stayed overnight and since I was able to keep some drink down Saturday morning my dr let me go home. Now I take 3 pills a day to prevent the vomiting and wear these motion sickness patches. Fun stuff! Hopefully all will return to normal after Aubrey makes her big debut!

Baby Girl has a name......

We finally decided on a name for the new baby. She will be Aubrey Kaitlyn Buchanan. YAY!!

Also, we think Madelyn may have said a sentence yesterday morning. She was on our bed and either said "I want down" or just "Want down". Either way, we were impressed!

We had a really good, festive weekend! We started with Christmas pictures Saturday morning, which turned out pretty good. The problem is no longer getting Madelyn to smile, but getting her to stay still!!

Saturday night we went to the Zoo lights with Nana, which was a lot of fun!! Madelyn wasn't too sure about the animals, but she loved the lights.

Last night we went to the Singing Christmas tree. I would definitely recommedn it to anyone! It was great! Madelyn was in the nursery, but she had a blast there! She didn't go to bed until almost 10:00 last night, so I'm anticipating an early night tonight. Well, here are some of our favorite Christmas pics.....
