We ended 2013 much
better than 2012!! Last New Years Eve I was at LeBonheur with Aubrey
because she had the flu, her fever wouldn't break below 104, and no other place
was open. MISERY! But 2013 ended on a much happier note :)
First of all, happy 35th
birthday to the love of my life! I feel bad that his birthday is on New
Years Eve. Both our parents have plans every year, so we have done
absolutely nothing on December 31st since the girls were born. This year
I decided to surprise Clint with some golf clubs he has been wanting for 3
years now. The girls were in on the secret, so they were super excited to
give him his gift. I think he was totally shocked when he got them!
Our original plan was to
order take out from a Chinese place in Collierville that we like. Clint
felt like actually eating at the restaurant, so I called to make sure they had
no wait, and off we went. it was nice to get out of the house for a
bit. the girls told the waiter that it was Daddy's birthday, and he even
brought us a plate of Chinese donuts with a candle in them. It was
sweet. We stopped by the Redbox on the way home and picked up a movie,
then went home to get in our comfy pjs.
Here is Madelyn and
McKenna in some matching jammies....
We let the girls lay in
our bed and watch tv while we watched the movie. Honestly, I forgot that
they weren't even in bed. Then around 10:30 Clint went and there and told
Madelyn to go to the bathroom and go to bed. I couldn't believe she was
awake! Clint woke Aubrey up and told her that she needed to go
potty. She stumbled into her bathroom, and after about 10 minutes I went
to check on her. She was PASSED OUT!!! I don't know how her tiny
little bottom didn't fall in, but she was snoring and all....
Clint fell asleep by
about 11:45, so at midnight I was laying in bed watching E! and told myself
happy new year. All in all it was a fun night.
I got up the next
morning and cooked. I had made Clint a homemade strawberry cake for his
birthday, and overnight he smoked 2 butts to take to his parents' house.
Gisele's favorite dessert is bread pudding, and for over a year now I've been
promising to make some. So that morning I tried bread pudding for the
first time, and I must admit - it was awesome!! I used cinnamon bread
instead of regular and made a custard type sauce to pour on it.
DIVINE! I'll definitely be making that again.
We spent New Years Day
at Clint and Gisele's eating and just visiting with family. It was a good
time.
Here is Aubrey holding
her cousin, Baby Lennon. It was so funny, she carried him like he was a
doll but he loved it!
Since New Years we've
been getting back in the groove. I worked 25 hours in 2 days, so I was
pretty exhausted this past weekend. We went to cheer Saturday morning and
the girls finally got to try on their uniform. Aubrey was beside herself
with excitement.
Look at that pose - Lord
help me!!!!
this week should be a
little better at work. I'll still be pretty busy tomorrow, but the end of
the week will be back to normal. Good thing because Madelyn has her first
gymnastics competition on Friday. I'm a nervous wreck about it. She
has to compete at the Cook Convention Center downtown. River city is
actually the gym that hosts the meet, so even after she competes on Friday, we
will be downtown cheering on others and I'll be working as a timer for 2 sessions
on Saturday. There are over 800 gymnasts competing this weekend!
NUTS!!
Until next time....
