Slacker....

I know, I'm slacking again on the posts!! let's see if I can remember what's happened since I last wrote. Well, the contractions have basically stopped, which is good news! However, every time I go to the doctor, I'm reminded that I'm dehydrated, which I'm guessing will just always be the case. Last week I had the flu, which wasn't fun but definitely was not as bad as it could have been. In fact, I worked all week regardless and only left early one day. my doctor appointment last week was pretty unexciting. He confirmed that i had the flu, and then I told him about the funny lump on my side I've had for a few months. He didn't look very entertained when I showed it to him, and rushed me into the ultrasound room so they could look and make sure nothing was herniated. Of course, it was nothing. He basically told me that it looks like some kind of mass (sound familiar??) and may have to be surgically removed after the baby comes. i felt completely defeated after hearing that! Basically, I'm a healthy 28 year-old who they have "accidentally" discovered that I have a cyst in my right lung, and a mass in my trachea and now one on my side. I all ready have the surgery pretty much scheduled for early June on my trachea, so Clint jokes that I should just have the surgeon go a little lower and take out the other one too. I may just do that!! But, I just praise God that it doesn't seem to be anything serious. however, I will definitely be contacting some sort of specialist once the baby comes to determine if all my illnesses are related, or if I'm truly a weird medical mystery!!

Anywho, Madelyn is doing really well and amazing me every day. She had her first overnight trip at Nana's house a couple of weeks ago. She had a blast playing with her best friend and cousin Izzy. Mom said they just chased each other around the house and laughed all night. Mom sent me some pics from the night.

Madelyn is getting so big I can't imagine how the new baby will seem. She'll count now, with a little help from us, but always wants to rush to 10 so she can scream YAY!!! She is big into sharing at the moment, and even tried to force a Cheez-It into my belly button because she really wanted Sissy to eat it.

We have gotten a lot done in the nursery. Clint painted the walls, and we have the crib and dresser all ready, as well as some pictures on the walls. I took down all of Madelyn's clothes from 0-6 months and washed them last weekend, so I think we're ready!! I'm having a baby shower at work tomorrow, which I'm really excited about.

Well, that's all that's new with us. next week is when my doctor should start checking me, but I'm sure this baby will hold up in there until 40 weeks.

until next time.....

Water, water and more water

Yes, that's all I seem to be drinking the last 24 hours thanks to my husband - the drink Nazi. Yesterday I woke up feeling a little yucchy, and as the day progressed my cramps began to get super uncomfortable and were accompanied by lower back pain. I called the doctor and of course they wanted to see me. Luckily, they checked my cervix and everything looked good - so no baby yet!! They also did some protein test that determined that there is a 98% chance that Aubrey will NOT make her arrival in the next 2 weeks, for which we were very thankful. They determined that I'm dehydrated, which is what keeps causing the contractions. No surprise to me considering that the whole pregnancy if I'm not having puking issues, I'm having tummy issues of other sorts. The only good thing is I've still barely gained any weight :) It's not all bad!! So now Clint has determined that he needs to basically try to have me drinking water constantly. His intentions are good :)

In other news, this weekend is Emily's baby shower - which should be lots of fun! I can't believe i have a close fried who's due only 2 weeks before me. I keep telling her it would be fun if we have the babies on the same day!!

Well, that's about lal in Buchanan news. Hopefully we'll get the paint for the nursery this weekend so we can get busy on that!!

Until next time.......
