We have Feet!!!!

Ok, well we've had them all along, but Aubrey has finally discovered that they're there!! She's tugging on them all the time, and rolling across the floor anytime we put her down :)

Madelyn's favorite thing to do these days is build "sand castles". As any proud mom would do, I had to post some pics of her latest masterpieces. Notice the baby in the baby in the background.

I came home from work today to find that Madelyn had been playing with her dress up clothes.

Notice the white socks with the purple heels...

Inside the mind of a 2 year old....

Sometimes I wonder what Madelyn thinks about all day. On Monday I overheard her talking to herself, and apparentaly this sums it up.

While gazing out the car window, she said very thoughtfully, "I like trees, and ants, and grass, and Elmo, and dinner"

There you have it.

Check ups

Well, we had the check up visits for both of the girls today. Aubrey hasn't had any diarrhea or fever since last week, but she still screams in the evening like something is hurting her. The doctor looked at her and said she looks perfect, but he thinks her digestive system may be under developed, so we're supposed to start giving her probiotics. She weighs in at 13 pounds even, and I think she was about 24 inches long. she's in the 50th percentile for height and weight, and 25th for head.

Madelyn weighed in at exactly double her sister, at 26 pounds even!! She also is 50th percentile for height and weight, and 25th for head. Hey, those small heads made for easy deliveries!! When going over the milestones, they asked me if Madelyn could say at least 20 words. I laughed out loud!! She says 20 words in a minute. Both of the girls look good and healthy - praise the Lord!!

We had a pretty busy but fun weekend. Friday night we just stayed home and relaxed. Saturday morning we woke up and went to the Newby house to plaay with Will and Reagan. Madelyn did much better this time and even shared some hugs with the kids (Thanks for the pics, Erin!!)

After playing, we went to Burger King to meet Aunt Kelly, Isabel, Ben and Colton for lunch. Then off to Nana's house and home for naps. Saturday afternoon we hung out at Mimi and Poppie's house where Aubrey sat in the walker for a minute or two.

Sunday morning was church, then home to nap. We spent too much time (and money) at the grocery store then came home and decided to rearrange furniture in our bedroom and living room. What a crazy weekend!!

A few weeks ago I promised to start posting recipes, but have been slacking. I'm finally focusing on the diet again, so i"m going to try to stick to that promise. Here's one that I've revamped into a WW friendly recipe that originally came from my friend Emily.

Ritz Chicken

1 can cream of celery soup (I use Fat Free)
1 can cream chicken soup (again, I use FF)
16 ounces sour cream (you guessed it, I use FF)
cooked chicken breast - now I usually use about 4 cooked breasts
salt and pepper

Combine everything in a casserole dish. Crush one sleeve of ritz crackers - I use the whole wheat variety. Melt enough butter to coat the crackers, and pour over casserole. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes, until bubbly. This is DELICIOUS!!

I have several pics to post, but for some reason i keep getting errors, so I'll have to try again later. Stay tuned...

UGHHHHHHHHHH

Well, today was a disaster. I went back and forth between work, the baby sitters' house and the doctor's office more times than I care to mention. I was pooped all over twice, and had at least one crying girl most of the day. Such is life I guess!!

Aubrey has a stomach virus that is making her feel awful. She's been fussy for a week now, and if you know Aubrey at all you know that she NEVER cries. Unless she's sick I should say. I suspected because of the fussiness that something was going on, but most people told me that babies just fuss sometimes. Well, the fever finally hit last night, and the diarrhea today! Basically nothing we can do but let it run its course. Aubrey weighed in at 12 pounds, 12 ounces :)

Madelyn doesn't seem to have caught anything from the baby (keep your fingers crossed!!) but she has a horrendous case of diaper rash. I'm not quite sure why since she pees in the potty about 5 times a day now, which I would think would help. Oh well!!

Here are some pics from yesterday morning...

The Lake!!

Well, our close friends Ray and Emily were nice enough to invte us to go to Pickwick with them over the weekend. Their precious little boy, Mason is only 2 weeks older than Aubrey, so we didn't know how it would go with the 3 kids. But they were a blast! We had such a good time and are so thankful to them for inviting us!

Here are the girls in the condo before we went out on Saturday morning.

It was impossible to find a life jacket small enough to fit on Aubrey. I borrowed one from a friend at work, and we used the two we had on the girls. So this is what we came up with...

Mason and Aubrey slept most of the time we were on the boat.

Madelyn really enjoyed it and even rode the Wave Runner with me this morning! She even helped Ray drive the boat!

A rare moment when all 3 were awake (notice how unhappy the babies seem!!)
Clint riding the raft. The whole time Madelyn was screaming "Bounce, Daddy, Bounce!!"

Pretty girls!!
When we were in the condo last night, Mason tried to make a move on Aubrey...

Thanks again to the Thornburgs for a fun, memorable weekend!!
